Corporate engagement
Our corporate engagement approach is consistent with our beliefs, values, and company purpose. Through financial contributions and product donations, we are making a difference in communities.
In FY23, Cencora provided more than $2.7 million in financial contributions to community-based organizations and global nonprofits
Ushering in new technology
Cencora Lithuania funded the €70,000 initial purchase of simulator baby “Paul” for the nonprofit organization Neišnešiotukas (Premature Baby Association) in Lithuania. The organization supports premature and sick newborns, their families, and the hospitals that care for them. This is the world’s smallest high-end patient simulator, which accurately represents a pre-term baby born in the 27th week of pregnancy. Weighing less than 1,000 grams (about 2.2 lbs.), the simulator enables realistic training in neonatology. This partnership has facilitated the first-of-its-kind adoption of this medical device in Lithuania and the Baltic States.

Product donations
Cencora also provided nearly $2.5 million in over-the-counter product donations to nonprofits such as Feeding America and numerous humane society organizations. Our in-kind donations of excess inventory enabled medical teams to dispense supplies and medications to underserved populations in need while also providing critical resources to parts of the world impacted by natural disasters and other crises.
In the wake of the devastating series of earthquakes that impacted Türkiye and Syria in February, Cencora was a key participant in a collaborative airlift with Good360 that delivered more than 127,000 pounds of product donations to those in need. Donated items included diapers, feminine care and personal hygiene products, and first aid kits. Additionally, Alliance Healthcare Türkiye, of Cencora, provided local assistance through financial support and product donations. We also made an impact through our independent, not-for-profit charitable giving organization, the Cencora Impact Foundation.
Putting surplus inventory to good use
Our U.S. distribution center in Kansas City embarked on a pilot program with Dispensary of Hope, a charitable medication distributor that collects and distributes millions of dollars' worth of pharmaceuticals annually to pharmacies and safety-net clinics to improve access to critical medicines for low-income, chronically ill, or uninsured patients. Instead of certain surplus inventory being returned to our global manufacturing partner, Viatris, Inc., for destruction, these medications can now be donated by the manufacturer and shipped directly by our distribution center to Dispensary of Hope.
Supporting the health of rescue animals
Alliance Healthcare UK donated more than 400 units of flea treatment to Many Tears Rescue, an organization that rehomes former breeding dogs that are in danger of being euthanized. While based in Wales, Many Tears Rescue saves more than 3,000 dogs each year throughout the UK and even overseas.
Planting trees to help communities flourish
In an ongoing collaboration with Treedom, Cencora PharmaLex has planted more than 1,200 trees in Africa and South America to reduce carbon emissions and contribute to reforestation efforts. Treedom finances small agroforestry projects, financing the planting of more than 2 million trees worldwide. Once the trees are productive, their fruits belong to the local community, supplementing both diets and incomes. A live webcam enables donors to watch the forest thrive.
